Melvin Sensenig

Mel has:

  • Over 18 years of experience in urban church planting in challenging regions.

  • Served in diverse ministry roles such as high school ministry, overseas church-planting, and campus ministry.

  • Mel holds a BA (magna cum laude) from Millersville University, a MDiv (magna cum laude) from Yale University Divinity School, and a PhD (summa cum laude) in Hebrew Bible from Temple University.

Mel is married to Cindy, and they have 4 grown children and one grandchild. Mel began in ministry in 1984, serving in high school ministry, as a member of an overseas church-planting team, in campus ministry and ministry to international students. Mel and Cindy have 18 years of experience in urban church planting in some of the most challenging regions of the nation. Mel planted and pastored Trinity Presbyterian Church in Providence, RI (named the nation’s least Bible-minded city in a 2016 Barna poll) and Christ Presbyterian Church in Reading, PA (named the nation’s poorest city after the 2010 census). He has taught at Temple University, Albright College, Saint Joseph’s University, Rowan University, Eastern University, Westminster Theological Seminary, and Evangelical Seminary.
